The 2 day Rwanda gorilla trek takes you to Parc National des Volcanoes (PNV) situated in the north of Rwanda with approximately 300 mountain gorillas staying in this amazing  gorilla safari park. Rwanda as a gorilla destination has 7 habituated gorilla tracking groups (families) –Susa family is the biggest family with 41 members followed by Kwitonda and Amahoro. Other families include Hirwa family in Sabinyo,   gorilla group 13, Umubano gorilla group and others. 8 tourists are allowed to track gorillas per day in every group.

2 day safari is the shortest gorilla Trekking (Tracking) trip to Rwanda Parc Des Volcanoes. This gorilla safari is short and worth it especially for last minute gorilla treks. Having lovely moments with the world’s remaining Mountain gorillas is awesome!  This is one of the shortest Rwanda safari that captures the essence of Rwanda ” a visit to the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Meeting these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a world unique adventure everyone should have the privilege to experience.


Day 1:  Transfer to gorilla Tracking Park / parc Volcanoes

On arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be received by a representative from Insight Safari Holidays who will welcome you and transfer to Volcanoes National park (PNV) where you will be tracking the gorillas on day 2. Depending on the arrival time you may have lunch at Kigali or at your lodging in Ruhengeri. The drive to Ruhengeri takes you through foothills of volcanoes which resulted into the Volcanoes National park . The drive is stunning as  you will be seeing hills surrounded by the area ; thus Rwanda known as the land of thousand hills. Tonight you will stay at Luxury Gorilla View lodge / Mid range La palme or Budget Kinigi Guest House.  Dinner and good night sleep.


Day 2:  Gorilla Adventure trek Rwanda

This morning will start with a lovely breakfast to give you energy for the gorilla safari experience. You will right away assemble at the park headquarters for orientation on what to do and not to do while you encounter with the mountain gorillas in their nature environment. You don’t have to break the rules!

The time you will spend with the gorillas is not certain since it is determined by the Movement of gorillas and the condition of weather in the forest.

It is recommended not to forget gorilla hiking shoes in your packing list for your gorilla Adventure trek in Rwanda. On top of this long trousers are recommended, gloves, walking sticks,  gloves rain gears, drinking water because  at times its too hoot and humid in the forest and  carry some. Time spent with the gorillas is strictly 1 hour for conservation purposes. After the gorilla trek you will return to your hotel to refresh yourself before you board your flight back home.
