Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking 2 days

Short safari to Kibale Forest to track the Chimpanzees; see other primates and different bird species that can be seen at Bigodi Wetlands.

Day One Kibale Forest National Park:

Have a lovely morning breakfast and depart to Kibale National Park for tracking the Chimpanzees. The drive is interesting as you will be seeing the beautiful scenery of the countryside. As you approach Kibale forest, you will be welcomed by some monkeys more so the Red tailed Adventure with the chimpanzees in Kibale ForestMonkeys. Check in to your desired lodge and these range from budget, moderate, luxury and super luxury. Some of the accommodations are situated within the forest thus bringing you closer to nature. You will see monkeys on your Verandah and still hear sounds of the forest elephants at night.

Late in the afternoon, we take a guided forest walk to Bigodi Swamp. Sturdy walking shoes are important because the place is quite muddy. On your walk, you will see many primates including the Vervet monkey, Blue Monkey, Olive Baboon, grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, L’Hoest monkey, black and white monkey and Red colobus monkey. Some of the animals seen on the trail are bush pigs, bush bucks, otters, mongooses, Sitatunga antelopes and a few chimpanzees.

You will be mesmerized by the various bird species including the great blue turaco.You will see different types of vegetation such as the papyrus, polita figs as well as the wild palms that make the area look adventurous and beautiful. Take nocturnal forest walk guided by a ranger to see the pottos and the bush babies that can’t be seen during the day. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Two Chimpanzee Tracking:
Wake up early morning and have an exquisite breakfast. Prepare for a forest walk to the park to track the chimpanzees. The experience is thrilling as you get a chance to see the chimpanzees face to face in their natural setting. Within the jungle you will see the other primates, beautiful flowers, trees, fluttering butterflies and different species of birds. With this great adventure, you will appreciate the true wilderness of Uganda. Return to your lodge, have lunch and check out of the lodge. Depart to Kampala.
