When to visit Uganda is such a frequent question asked by many travelers. Majority of the tourists that go to Uganda come to see the gorillas therefore the question is based on the best time to go gorilla trekking. The best time to visit Uganda and engage in gorilla trekking is usually the months of January, February, June to September. You will be able to see all kinds of wildlife during this period.

This is the dry season and so accessing the wild animals is quite simple. Uganda is an equatorial national and so it’s a bit hard to predict its weather. Average amount of rainfall received ranges from 1000mm to 2000mm per year and that is acknowledged as the wet season.

The Southwestern part of Uganda has two rainy seasons and the first one is received from April to May and the second one from October to Novermber.Take note that Uganda’s gorilla trekking is located in the southern part of the country for instance Mgahinga National Park along with Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. With such information, you can determine when to visit the great mountain gorillas. The northern part doesn’t have lot of tourist attractions but receives it rain from April to October. We may say that during the rainy season, it may not be the best time but if you traveled to Uganda you may as well see some of the wildlife and gorillas.

Uganda is fascinatingly wealthy and fertile destination; it’s surrounded by dense rainforests, savannah plains that are a home to the great mountain gorillas and the famous big cats. It’s one Country that you visit all year around although some months may be a bit hard to allow you travel. It’s on record that Uganda has over 342 wildlife species including the great apes and the gorillas that are often visited by tourists. Below are some of the public holidays that are greatly respected in Uganda; Independence day (Oct 9),Labor Day (May 1),Heroes Day (June 9),Martyr’s Day (June 3) and Christmas Day.

You are kindly asked to book your flights to Uganda in advance before the peak season because you may fail to get on. During this time, the prices are high. Although park fees usually don’t change.

A foot in this park will actually let you know why it’s known as Impenetrable and yet penetrable. It has a stream of water within the forest that makes it a wonderful place to visit. Some level of physical fitness is required as you have to climb the steep mountains when tracking the gorillas. All this adventure is really exciting and worth your time and money.

Apart from the Mountain gorillas that are loved by many tourists, the park has over 346 bird species and about 200 fluttering butterflies. The tree species are about 324 of which 12 are only discovered in Uganda. Bwindi is the place to visit and explore nature at its best. The gorillas are habituated and so permits go for $500 per person. People that have tracked the gorillas in Bwindi bear me witness that it’s a dream come true and worth the cost and journey.

Tracking (trekking) the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the best part of your safari in Uganda. Its one creature that attracts many tourists to Uganda and that is why it’s called the pearl of Africa, Uganda is politically stable giving you a chance to trek the gorillas at any angle in the Mountain.

This is a 3 days Uganda Safari involving rhino tracking and a wildlife safari. The safari will include a boat trip, a hike to the top of the falls, a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and game drives.

It will begin and end in Kampala, taking you through Uganda’s Largest National Park – Murchison Falls National Park. The park was named after the spectacular 43 meters high Murchison Falls that were formed due to an outburst of water from world’s longest river rising through a 7 meter gorge into the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. This river that flows through the park has attracted hundreds of different species of animals and birds to the park, thus making it an ideal platform for wildlife safari.

Dominating the vegetation in the northern region of the park is the flourishing borassus grassland, which has attracted various animals like buffalos, giraffes, different types of antelopes and elephants. South of the park is the Rabongo Forest a renowned sanctuary for primates such as chimpanzees and many more rain forest monkeys. The flowing Nile is a haven of Africa’s largest crocodile and hippopotami population, and a variety of stunning water birds like the rare shoebill stork.

Tour Itinerary: Uganda Wildlife safari. 3 days
