9 Day Uganda Wildlife, Gorilla Chimpanzee African Safari

Day One Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary &Murchison Falls Park:
We leave Kampala in the morning and on our way we are given bottled water to quench the thirst. It’s recommended to set off at exactly 6am in order to keep time and do all that we are supposed to do on that day. Off we drive towards Masindi and along the journey we go visit the Ziwa Rhino Reserve. In the past, the rhinos were extinct and now they are restored in the Sanctuary. It’s a big piece of land that gives them freedom to roam around the park; you will see them up close and take pictures as well. Two hours is the maximum time allocated to this sanctuary and after proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Check in to your desired lodge and have lunch. These range from up market, moderate and budget. Some of these include Paraa lodge, Chobe Lodge, Global Village Lodge, Red Chilli Lodge and many others. They all offer an amazing view of the park and from any angle; you can see animals roaming around the park.
After relaxing, we set off for the afternoon game drive; you will see many animals as they are out looking for food and water. As you enjoy the ride of your 4wheel safari vehicle with an open roof, you will catch a glance at the Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Giraffes, Antelopes, Buffaloes and warthogs. Please come with a fully charged camera or enough batteries so that you don’t regret missing the best pictures. You are free to stop the vehicle at anytime just in case you have seen something interesting along the drive. Sounds and sights will give you a wonderful experience. Return to your lodge for dinner as you reflect on your day as accomplished and rest.
Day Two Wildlife at Murchison Falls National Park:
Wake up early morning for breakfast and get ready for the second game drive. This drive is quite unique from the rest because you will get a chance to see some animals retiring to go to sleep and others rising up by the morning sun. Many of the animals will be seen in large numbers and taking pictures will be amazing on your ride within the park. Something interesting about the Buffaloes is that you will find many solitary male looking so miserable and frustrated with life. Others include herds of elephants, Giraffes grazing, Lions with their cubes and many more. Return to your lodge for lunch and rest.
After lunch, prepare to have the best spotlights of your safari In Murchison Falls National Park. The boat cruise is out on the Nile ready for adventure. As you start your ride, you will see large concentration of hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, elephants and buffaloes coming for water, different bird species like storks, Fish eagle shoebill and much more. As you take a glance at nature, you will be served with bottled water since it sometimes gets hot. You will still see some other animals at a distance grazing around the shores of the lake.
The boat moves slowly towards the gorgeous falls that flow with a lot of power. The river is about 50 meters and the falls progress via a 7 meter gorge and down 43 meters. The sound is noisy and all you can do is to appreciate nature as you take pictures of the thundering falls. As you cruise back, you will see many animals coming to the lake thus enjoying the last view of Mother Nature in Uganda. Get back to your lodge for dinner as you see hippos in the lake and rest by the sound of birds in the wild.

Day 3 Queen Elizabeth National Park:
A lovely morning breakfast at your lodge and set off to Kampala. Depending on where you slept, you may need to cross the Nile and if not, right away proceed to Murchison Falls for a top view. As we drive back, the journey will be interesting as we see different farmlands and homesteads along. Have Lunch at Masindi Hotel and drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We get there in the afternoon and check in to our desired lodge. They range from up market, moderate and budget. Some of these include Katara lodge, Bush lodge, Enganzi lodge, Kingfisher Lodge, Kyambura game Lodge, Simba safari camp and many others. They all offer a wonderful view of the park and while dinning you will see the animals roaming around the lodge’s vicinity. After dinner, you deserve to rest.

Day 4 Queen Elizabeth Park Wildlife Safari:
A beautifully morning breakfast and off we go for the game drive. It’s the best time to see all kinds of animals some retiring to go to sleep and others waking up to go grazing. Among these animals that you will see include antelopes, lions, elephants, Impalas, Ugandan Kob, Leopard, warthogs and many others. The vehicle can stop at any time just in case you see something interesting and still take pictures that will be memorable on your safari. Have Lunch at your lodge and rest.
In the late afternoon, we get ready for the boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. You will get a chance to see animals that you failed to see on land. As you enjoy your ride, you will enjoy a good view of the ever green vegetation that surrounds the park. You will spot large concentration of hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, Buffaloes and elephants coming for water, different bird species as well as other animals will be seen at a distance in the park. As you conclude your cruise, you will see these animals for the last time. Return to your lodge for dinner and Rest.
Day 5 Queen Elizabeth Park – Chimpanzee tracking (trekking) – Bat Cave:
Have a wonderful breakfast at your lodge and off to Kyambura Gorge for tracking the Chimpanzees. You will still see some animals as you drive to the gorge. The walk is quite simple and guided by a ranger who will take you to the best spots where chimps can be discovered. These keep moving from one place to another and so it requires a well experienced guide to help you track the chimpanzees. Besides the Chimpanzees, you will get an opportunity to see other primates like Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Vervet Monkeys and much more. Kyambura is a well known spot for viewing different bird species for instance the Black Bee Eater and the Blue Bellied Kingfisher. Have our packed lunch and continue to Maramagambo Forest to visit the Bat cave along with the many snakes. You will be guided by a ranger and this will be a thrilling moment.
This is optional for those who would want to go for a nocturnal game drive; this is the time when you will see animals that are hard to find during day. Your guide will drive you to the best spots where they can be found, you will love the experience once you try this out. Return to your lodge and rest.
Day 6 Journey Begins to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:
We proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Gorilla tracking: With a lovely morning breakfast, we drive off to Bwindi along the way; we will get a chance to see the tree climbing lions in Ishasha vicinity of the park. The driver will surely drive slowly as you enjoy the view of the king of the jungle with its cubs and mother resting. The experience at this park will be memorable. Right after that we continue with our journey to Bwindi that is so exciting, you will enjoy a good view of the countryside and as you approach Kabale, you will be welcomed by hundreds of hills that will make you appreciate the beauty of Uganda. We arrive in Bwindi and check in to our desired lodges, you will be spoilt by choice as these range from up market, moderate and budget. Some of these include Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Lodge, Gorilla Forest Camp, Mahogany Springs Lodge, Silverback Lodge and many others. Day 7 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Gorillas:
Have an early morning breakfast and head off to the park’s headquarters for an orientation and meet the ranger guide. You will be split in groups and among the gorilla families include; Rushegura, Kyaguriro, Oruzogo, Habinyanja, Nshongi, Bitukura, Mubare, Nkuringo and Kahungye. Tracking the gorillas can take a few hours or perhaps a whole day, this is because they keep on relocating from place to place. Some level of physical fitness is required as you have to climb the steep Mountains. Hiking through the mysterious forest will give you a chance to see other primates, birds, flora and fauna. As you hike, you will encounter the powerful Mountain Gorillas. You are requested to leave a distance of 5 meters as you come face to face with the gorillas, you will see them do their daily routine work, playing, resting and the mothers feeding their young ones. Gorilla trekking with Children is allowed although they must be above 15 years of age. Elderly people can track the gorillas; such people track the Rushegura gorilla group because they are close to the forest. The experience will be rewarding.
Depending on your energy levels and time, you may proceed for a village walk to see the Batwa people. These are the pygmies that have been able to survive in the forest. You will see their traditional ways and how women make their hand craft, traditional healer, banana brewing home stead and their community school. They will perform their cultural dance as a way of thanking you for visiting them. This will actually conclude your adventurous safari in Bwindi. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest by the sounds of the birds.
Day 8 We leave Bwindi to Lake Mburo:
A lovely morning breakfast at your lodge and check out. We drive off to Lake Mburo National Park. The Journey is not boring because they are a lot to see in the countryside. We arrive at the park and check in to our desired lodge. Have lunch. The lodges range from up market, moderate and budget. Some of these include Mihingo lodge, Mantana lodge and Arcadia lodge. You will only choose where to stay depending on your choice. As you din at any selected lodge, you will see animals roaming around the area which will make your stay memorable.
Late in the afternoon, we set off for the boat cruise, this will give you a chance to see many animals such as hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, buffaloes and elephants coming for water ,different bird species and the rest will be seen at a distance in the park. Right after the cruise, we go for the sunset walk guided by a ranger; you will still see many animals and take your final pictures as the sun sets over the animals. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 9 We conclude our Adventurous Safari in Uganda:
Wake up early morning and have breakfast. Set off for the game drive that is surrounded by the five lakes. You will get a chance to see the amazing animals as well as birds in a charming habitat of acacia trees scattered within the Savannah. Check out of the Lodge and drive off to Kampala. Have lunch in Masaka and stop at Nabusanka Trading Center, take pictures around the Equator and visit the craft shops. Our next stop is at Mpambire where you will see the Buganda Royal Drum Makers, you can buy a souvenir that will remind you of a wonderful safari you had in Uganda. Back on the road up to Kampala, get there late in the afternoon and if you don’t have a flight back home, you may opt to enjoy a vibrant nightlife in Kampala where the party never stops. All kind of music is played to make your stay exciting with people moving from bar to bar. You will enjoy a lot of drinking and dancing as our guide will be waiting for you to return you to your lodge. A night in Kampala will be memorable and worth the experience. The people are friendly and welcoming.
