Day 1 to Murchison Falls National Park
Often time your safari begins right from the airport or the day after depending on your time of arrival. If you arrive in the evening, you will sleep in one of the luxury lodges in Uganda called Cassia lodge. It has a wonderful view overlooking many hills and Lake Victoria as well. You will enjoy watching the sunset over the lake and if you so wish, go swimming in their pool. You will be served delicious food as you relax enjoying a vibrant night in the area. Right away, you will start appreciating that actually Uganda is the pearl of Africa.
Have an early breakfast and leave for Murchison Falls National Park located in the northern part of Uganda. Your journey will be full of life as you enjoy seeing the scenic beauty of the countryside that is dominated by the evergreen vegetation. You will get a chance to see people living in homesteads which will be quite amazing. The vehicle can stop at any point of interest to take pictures that will be memorable on this safari.
As you have lunch in Masindi hotel, you will be mesmerized by its architecture that offers a unique experience to all its visitors. It’s acknowledged to be the oldest hotel in Uganda and it was established in 1923.The hotel has hosted many prominent visitors and among these include Ernest Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart and Kathryn Hepburn. You will enjoy a wonderful picturesque and peaceful ambiance of the hotel as you will be served your lunch.
We get back in the vehicle and proceed to our destination Murchison Falls National Park. We stop over to see the natural wonder of Uganda at the top of the falls. This will be exciting and breathtaking because you will ask yourself so many questions on how these falls came into existence. Briefly these falls were named by Sir Samuel Baker along with his wife Florence when they were on a tour to Uganda in 1864. Idi Amin the president of Uganda then renamed them as Kabalega falls which later on become the Murchison Falls National Park that is now famous to many tourists across the world.
Being on top of the falls will be amazing as you will witness the ground shaking by the too much thrust of the Nile, with over 50 meters broad tumbling down 46 meters via a 7 meter gorge and gracefully flowing into Lake Albert. It’s known as the most dominant fall worldwide.
After such a wonderful experience with the falls, we continue to our Nile safari lodge or Red chili lodge and check in. Staying in a tented camp will actually bring you closer to nature and you will enjoy the cool breeze of the Nile. They are well designed to offer you the best relaxation with wonderful facilities for your stay. You will see animals roaming around the park as you enjoy your dinner. There is a swimming pool for your enjoyment overlooking the Nile providing a fascinating view of the park.
Prior to dinner, we take an evening game drive that will necessitate us to cross the Nile. We will delight in the cool breeze of the Nile as we see different bird species, large schools of hippos and crocodiles chilling in the water and the savannah that is a home to various kinds of wildlife. You will enjoy a picturesque of the scenery ahead of you as you take pleasure in your cruise.
On your evening game drive, you see animals of all kinds including Antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda Kob, warthogs, leopards, lions and various bird species. Your safari vehicle with an open roof will give you a beautiful view of the park and all that surrounds it as you take pictures. Feel free to stop the driver whenever you wish to get a closer glance at the animals.
After the game drive, we head for the ferry crossing and get back to the lodge for dinner in the wilderness and go rest by the different sounds of bird species. This will be exhilarating and quite different from what you call home. Below are some of the lodges depending on your budget;

Day 2 Murchison Falls National Park
Have an early morning breakfast and off for to a ferry crossing for the game drive. You will get a chance to see various animals retiring on their to sleep and others getting awake for the day. Among these include antelopes, lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Leopards, warthogs, hippos and bird species such as the migratory ones from Europe. The true wilderness of Uganda will offer you multitudes of primates and mammals that can all be found in the park. Get back to the lodge either Paraa, Chobe or Red chilli lodge for lunch and relax a bit as you wait for the afternoon boat trip on the Nile up to the bottom of the falls. As you enjoy the cruise, you will see hippos trouncing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, herds of elephant drinking water, antelopes and buffaloes at a distance. You will spot birds and monkeys hanging in the trees. The boat ride takes about three hours with great treasure of the wilderness.
Day 3 Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest
Wake up early morning and have breakfast, check out of the lodge and proceed to Kibale Forest National Park for a thrilling encounter with the primates. It’s a rainforest that harbors close to 13 species of primates that are hard to find in East Africa. A lovely drive through the beautiful countryside of the area, seeing different features. You will notice the gradual change of the weather as you get close to the Rwenzoria Mountains. All this will be breathtaking for your trip to Kibale. We arrive in Kibale Forest late afternoon and check in to our special primate lodge situated in the jungle. You may decide to stay in cottages if not go for the luxury tent that is self-contained, with a beautiful verandah overlooking the jungle .Seeing different bird species as they make their sounds that you will love hearing as you rest at night. Have dinner at primate lodge. In the evening, you take a nocturnal walk in the forest to look for the potto and bush babies that are so hard to see during the day. This will be exciting as you see other animals that move around the park in the night. Return to your lodge and rest.

Day 4 Kibale Forest
An exquisite morning breakfast to prepare you for the adventurous day. Set off to Kibale forest to track or trek the chimapnzees.The experience will be memorable as you see other primates such as L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, Baboons as well as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey. The forest is a home to over 325 species of birds for instance the colorful turacos, hornbills and many others. You encounter a moment with exciting butterflies that are about 144 different types. You can see some wild animals in the park such as antelopes, buffaloes and the forest elephants. Return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we take a walk to the neighboring Bigodi swamp wetland. You will be delighted to see over 135 bird species in the polita figs, wild palms in addition to the papyrus. You will spot different kinds of monkeys and the rare sitatunga antelope. You may come along the chimpanzees making your walk fun filling. Back to your Lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5 Queen Elizabeth
Have an early morning breakfast and off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, it’s a four hour’s drive but with a beautiful scenery of the countryside. Have lunch and check in to your desired lodge for instance Kyambura game lodge, Katara lodge, Ihamba lodge, Enganzi lodge and Simba safari camp ranging from luxury to budget. All these offer a wonderful view of the park and you will see animals roaming around more specifically the elephants. These have cottages that are well designed to meet the taste of the visitors with elegant beddings and fully self contained to make your stay comfortable. Right after lunch, we get ready for the afternoon boat trip on Kazinga Channel, its one activity that you must not miss on your safari. On this ride, you will see animals that you failed to see on the game drive such as big concentration of hippos thrashing the river, crocodiles basking in the sun, elephant and buffaloes drinking water on the shores, giraffes and bird species. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery a head of your ride. Return to your lodge and rest. Have dinner and get ready for the nocturnal game drive which is beyond doubt a thrilling encounter to spot the animals moving at night. A guide ranger will guide you to the best spots where you can’t fail to see lions, hyenas, birds and leopards that you may not see during the day. This is optional. Return to your lodge and rest by the sounds of the birds in the wilderness.

Day 6 Queen Elizabeth Park
Have a lovely morning breakfast and set off for chimpanzee tracking (trekking) and other primates at Kyambura Gorge. Visiting Maramagambo Forest in Queen Elizabeth will offer you a chance to see large population of chimpanzees as you do your forest walk.Kyambura gorge has habituated chimpanzees that are a must see on your walk. Apart from the chimpanzees, you will see other primates such as Olive Baboons, Red tailed monkeys, Blue monkeys, black and white colobus Monkeys and the vervet monkeys.Kyambura is a prominent area for bird watching and among the birds you are going to see include the blue Bellied Kingfisher, Black Bee Eater and many others. After tracking the chimpanzees, we return to our lodge for some relaxation as we wait for the afternoon game drive. As you enjoy your drive; you will see beautiful crater lakes that are a home to many animals like the buffaloes, warthogs and bird species like the flamingos. Other animals will include lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes, Giraffes and many others. Get back to lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 7 Queen Elizabeth Park
Right after our morning breakfast, we check out of the lodge and head to the Ishasha plains of the park. It’s within the park although quite unique with its tree climbing lions that are hard to find in any park. Ishasha wilderness tented camp will be the best lodging because it’s situated right in the heart of the wilderness. Standing at your veranda, you will see animals around and more so the elephants getting closer to your lodge. Believe me this will be an amazing encounter. Prior to Lunch, we take a game drive to go look for the tree climbing lions as they hide from the heat of the day. It’s a sure deal that you will see many resting on the acacia branches getting rid of the bugs that are on the ground. Return to the lodge for a delicious lunch meal and rest. Late in the afternoon, we continue with the game drive along the plains of Ishasha and see other animals such as leopards, buffaloes, antelopes and many others.
Day 8 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
A lovely soothing breakfast in the morning and still set our last eyes on the tree climbing lions as we drive through the Ishasha part of the park. Right after that memorable experience, we drive off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and one of the major points of interest for your safari in Uganda. Tracking the Mountain gorillas is one fascinating activity that must be done on a safari. How much a gorilla safari costs will depend on the type of accommodation you opt for. They will advise you on the best gorilla trekking packing list you must consider on your safari; this is to ensure you have the right safari gear. We arrive at the park and check in to your desired lodge ranging from up market to budget for instance Gorilla forest camp, Buhoma lodge, Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Gorilla resort and Mahogany springs lodge. You will only be spoilt by choice. They have cottages and tented camps that will make your stay memorable. Have lunch at your lodge and get ready for a hike on the Munyaga Waterfall trail, this takes about three hours to get there. The hike will be adventurous as you will see different bird species, fluttering butterflies and many primates along the trail. Return to your lodge and rest.

Day 9 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Here comes the big day you have been waiting for, tracking (trekking) the Mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Have an early morning breakfast at your lodge and proceed to the headquarters for briefing and meeting your game ranger. Set off for a whole day of tracking a certain group of Mountain Gorillas. This often takes about 8 hours or less depending on where they were on the previous day. Catching a glance at the mountain gorillas at a distance will be worth satisfying the soul. You will get an up close look at them as they do their daily routine work, some playing, resting and the mothers feeding the young ones. Gorilla trekking with children is allowed but these must be above 15 years of age. Elderly people can as well track the gorillas. They can track the Rushegura gorilla group that is not exhausting and yet accessible. Bwindi has 9 gorilla families that are habituated and these include; Rushegura, Kyaguriro, Oruzogo, Habinyanja, Nshongi, Bitukura, Mubare, Nkuringo as well as Kahungye.Only 8 people are allowed per group. It’s an experience worth sharing when you get back home. Return to your lodge and rest after a tiresome day.
Day 10 Lake Bunyonyi
An exquisite morning breakfast and check out of the lodge as you say bye to Bwindi National park. Depart for the most fascinating lake in the world. It’s one scenery that you ought not to miss on your safari. It’s acknowledged to be the second deepest lake in Africa, although the scenery looks more like postcard portrait that is admired by many tourists. For those who have watched the lord of the rings will bear me witness that the place looks familiar to that in the movie. It has many Islands that make the place look so beautiful and one to stay in. We check in to the Heritage Lodge Habuharo Island although accessing this lodge will necessitate you to take a boat ride as you enjoy the amazing scenery of the lake. Your guide will show you an island called the Punishment Island; it’s a place where girls that had got pregnant before marriage were thrown to rot in the wilderness. So girls were supposed to be cautious of themselves not to fall victim of this crime. You will be welcomed by their friendly staff and served delicious lunch. After lunch, we may go canoeing or nature walk along the shores as you see different kinds of bird species. You will feel away from home while on this island. You will have a beautiful view overlooking the lake as you enjoy your dinner and after rest.
Day 11 – Lake Bunyonyi and Mgahinga Gorilla Park
Have a lovely breakfast and proceed for an early morning nature walk along the lake. You will see many hills cultivated by the local people and the birds in the wild. Return to Heritage lodge and check out, leave for Mgahinga Gorilla Park. The journey is so interesting as you enjoy a ride on top of the hills and the scenery surrounding the area. Mount Gahinga Lodge is situated in the hub of the Volcanoes; you check in and have a delicious lunch. It’s strategically positioned right at the foot of the Volcanoes making it the best accommodation to have for a safari.
Day 12 – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
A lovely morning breakfast and get ready to visit the Mgahinga Gorilla Park. It’s one area that is surrounded by both active and inactive Volcanoes although majority that are in the park are inactive. Today, you encounter with the park’s endangered species the Golden Monkeys.You will be guided by a ranger who will take you through the bamboo zone for an adventurous moment with the golden monkeys.Tracking the golden monkeys is a thrilling encounter and one to remember for a life time. You will get a chance to see other wildlife in the park as well. Have lunch and get ready for the community walk in the park’s neighboring Batwa people. You will see the pygmies and how they live their lives. You will learn so much about their traditional and cultural values that have made them survive in the area. They will entertain you with their cultural dance and sing as a way of gratification. You will as well visit the Garama cave, one fascinating place not to miss out. It’s a historical place where the Batwa lived when they were fighting their enemies. Currently the place is occupied by bats but it’s worth the visit. Have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 13 – Lake Mburo Park
Wake up early morning and have breakfast. Set off for Lake Mburo National Park. The journey won’t be boring as you will enjoy the view of the countryside. Check in to your desired lodge ranging from up market to budget for instance Mantana lodge, Arcadia lodge and Mihingo Lodge. You will be spoilt by choice on which lodge to take up. You will see animals roaming around the lodge without being bothered. They have safari tents that overlook Lake Mburo giving you a peaceful stay at the lodge. Have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we head for the boat ride to see large concentration of hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun and other animals such as zebras, Impala, Eland and Buffaloes. The park has over 315 different kinds of birds for instance Bush Shrike, Papyrus, African Fin Foot and many others can be seen as you enjoy your ride. Something you didn’t know about Lake Mburo is that it’s a prolongation of the Tanzanian Plains that cover a big part of Uganda. Its savannah is spotted with Acacia trees that make it a beautiful park with large numbers of zebras to see right on your arrival. The only primates that can be discovered in this park include the baboons and the vervet monkeys. Have Dinner and rest.
Day 14 Lake Mburo
Have breakfast and get ready for the horseback riding safari. It’s a ride that covers so many plains and hills in search of wildlife. You will get a chance see animals at a close range and these include zebras, Impala, Elands, warthogs, antelopes and buffaloes in their natural setting. It’s such an exciting adventure to encounter on a safari. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda that offers a guided horseback riding safari. Encounter nature at its best. Have lunch and leave for Kampala,our stop over is at the Equator to take pictures and still visit the Buganda drum makers, you can purchase a souvenir that will make you remember a wonderful safari you had in Uganda. Arrive in Kampala and check in to your hotel and if you have a flight proceed to Entebbe Airport.
Just in case you still have time in Kampala, you can opt for a nightlife in Kampala .The night looks like daytime as people move from bar to bar and some clubbing till morning. Uganda is the only country in Africa that has a vibrant night right from Monday to Monday. Each day you decide to go out, you will have a blast with the friendly Ugandans. Music of all kind is played as you shake your bones till morning. You will be escorted by our driver who will make sure you get back to your lodge safe and sound. This will conclude your adventurous safari in Uganda.
Day 15 Entebbe: Have breakfast and leave to Entebbe for your flight back home. It’s the moment to say farewell to the pearl of Uganda.
