Gorilla safari Itinerary:  5 days gorilla safari Holiday Uganda and Rwanda Gorillas

Day 1

You will set off from Kampala and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is south west of Uganda. At the Equator you will stop for an educational briefing and also take photographs. On reaching Mbarara town, you will have lunch, and later proceed with your journey driving through the overlapping hills with beautifully terraced farms and homesteads of Kibale – the “Switzerland of Uganda”.

Also, you will sight the peaks of the Virunga volcanoes located between Lake Edward and Lake Kivu before descending into the Valley to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Dine and sleep at Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board) or Gorilla Resort.

Day 2

Today you will embark on a 5 hours gorilla tracking expedition that will require a lot of stamina and determination to ascend through the thick forested hills. The length of this gorilla trekking will be determined by the movement of these gorillas. On find these camouflages animals in the trees, you will stop and unwind to their grunting noises, marveling at the giant silverback dominant male. Unfortunately, there are less than 650 of this species left all over the world. The thick, cool and serene environment filled with the harmonious grunting of the gorillas is a life time experience you should never to miss.

There will be an optional guided trek to Munyaga River, spotting the three spectacular translucent waterfalls, Bwindi’s colorful butterflies, the epithytic ferns and orchids.

You will dine and sleep at Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board) or Gorilla Resort.

Day 3

Following breakfast, you will set off for Rwanda, moving your clocks backward by one hour. On arrival, you will watch the beautiful sunset over the Virunga volcanoes or enjoy a leisure walk around the lodge. Dine and sleep at Kinigi guest house (FB) or Gorilla Nest Lodge

Day 4

After breakfast you will go to the Gorilla haven of Parc National des Volcans; a tropical rain forest covering the adjacent hills to the Virunga volcanoes. As you embark on this tiring but rewarding walk you will carry sufficient water and lunch. The length of this expedition will be determined by the movement of these primates. You will later return to camp for a rest. There will be an optional drive to Gisenyi to visit Lake Kivu and Ross Carr’s orphanage, or visit community projects and the local school, or climb the Muhavura / Visoke volcanoes, or walk to Lake Bulere or search for the golden monkeys.

Dine and slumber at Kinigi guest house (FB) or Gorilla Nest Lodge

Day 5:

Following breakfast, you will return back to Kampala and arrive late in the evening for your onward travel plans.
