6 Days Mountain Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Tracking(trekking) the Mountain Gorillas, Queen Elizabeth National Park for the best Wildlife safari and Lake Mburo National Park for zebras, Antelopes and other wildlife.

Day 1 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest:  The Best Ugandan Safari Starts: Have an early morning breakfast and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest . Its located in the south western part of Uganda adjacent to the rift valley. The journey is interesting as you will see Gorilla trekking tipsphysical features in the countryside. The vehicle can be stopped at anytime just in case you see anything exciting and take pictures as well. Have lunch in Mbarara. We arrive in Bwindi and check in to our desired lodge. There are quite many and these range from up market, moderate and budget. Some of these include Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Gorilla Resort, Gorilla Forest Camp, Mahogany Spring lodge and many others. They are strategically located with a view overlooking the impenetrable forest. Some gorillas walk close to lodges depending on where they slept the previous day. Have dinner at your lodge and rest.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi: Wake up early morning and have breakfast at your lodge. Proceed to the park’s headquarters for orientation and meeting the ranger guide. You are split into groups depending on the one you are assigned, you move into the forest. Hiking through this forest will be mysterious as you will get a chance to see other primates, birds, flora and Fauna. Tracking the gorillas takes a few hours and if not a whole day. Setting your eyes on the gorillas will be thrilling; you will see them do their daily routine work, some playing, resting and the mothers feeding their young ones. You are free to take pictures at this moment although your camera must not have a flashlight. With the an amazing time with the gorillas, you return to your lodge.

Depending on your energy levels and time, after lunch. We can go for a fantastic village walk to see the Batwa people. They are the pygmies that live around the area. This area is composed of exciting sites such as tea farms, women hand craft shop, traditional healer,bananan brewing homestead and the community school that is supported by the lodges around  Bwindi. They will entertain you with their cultural dance and still sing for you as way of thanking you for visiting them. Have dinner at your lodge and rest as you reflect on the wonderful experience you had with the gorillas.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park: Right after your morning breakfast, we continue to Queen Elizabeth national Park. The journey is not boring as you will enjoy seeing the countryside. We arrive in the afternoon, check in to our desired lodge and have lunch. Some of the lodges include Katara lodge, Kyambura game lodge, Bush Lodge, Kingfisher Lodge, Enganzi Lodge, Simba safari camp, Queen Elizabeth safari camp and others. These ranges from up market, moderate and budget thus the choice depends on where you want to sleep. Late in the afternoon you set off for the game drive in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains . You will see antelopes, lions, leopards, elephants as they prepare for yet a big day tomorrow. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Park Wildlife Safari: Have breakfast and drive off to Kyambura gorge but on your way, you will still see early morning animals moving around the park. Chimpanzee tracking is best done at this spot. You will as well see other primates and different kinds Tree climbing lions in Ishasha Queen Elizabeth National Parkof bird species. Depending on time you may go visit Maramagamba forest and see the bat caves and snakes of all kinds.
In the afternoon, we get ready for the boat cruise along the Kazinga channel; you will see animals that you failed to see in the game drive. These include large concentration of hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, buffaloes and elephants coming for water, different Come see the wildlife in Uganda bird species and others will be watched at a distance in the park. Going for a nocturnal game drive is optional although this gives you a chance to see the animals that can’t be seen during day. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Lake Mburo National Park: Have an early morning breakfast and drive off to Lake Mburo National Park. It’s a lovely place to relax after a long journey to different parks in Uganda. We arrive in the afternoon, check in to our desired lodge and have lunch. Some of the lodges around the park include Mantana lodge, Arcadia Lodge and Mihingo Lodge. These range from up market, moderate and budget. Your choice will depend on where you want to sleep. They offer a wonderful scenery that will enable you see the animals as you dine at the lodge.

In the afternoon, we go for the boat ride around lake Mburo. You will see lots of wildlife such as hippos,crocodiles,buffaloes,elephants,abundance of birds and others  watched at a distance. Right after the cruise, we get ready for the sun set walk guided by a ranger around the park. You will still see many animals as they retire to go to sleep. This will be the perfect time to take beautiful pictures with the sun setting to the east. Return to your lodge and rest.

Day 6 – End of the safari; early morning breakfast and proceed for the morning game drive the way through the five lake game park. You will see amazing animals and different bird species in their habitat of the acacia trees scattered in the savannah. Check out of the lodge and drive off to Kampala. The first stop is made at the Equator and take some photos; you will visit the craft shops and buy for yourself a souvenir. The next stop is made at the Buganda Royal Drum Makers; you will love the art they use to have a product finished with beautiful designs. Continue to Kampala where we arrive late in the afternoon. If you don’t have a flight that day, you may opt for a nightlife in Kampala where the party never ends. There will be lots of drinking and dancing and after an exciting night, your guide will return you to your lodge and rest. This safari will be worth the experience.
